It’s not a presidential campaign, but I’m pretty happy to have been elected
Our blog has been nominated in a mom blog award, organised and hosted by Laura-Kim over at Harassed Mom. It’s a wonderful initiative from this mom of three and blogger herself for organising great prizes and doing a lot of work for a category of bloggers that is sometimes overlooked.
Why I’m so happy is that someone took the time out to nominate Dear Max, and whose good words propelled us onto the nominee list (the list was not based on the number of votes, but the motivation was what counted the most). To the good person who thought of this blog and took the time to say some kind words about it, thank you. It’s not often that this kind of thing happens, and where someone says a kind word without the
bribe offer of a baked cheesecake from me in return.
Though I have been so utterly privileged in my life, I’ve never really won anything before, aside from a wooden tennis racquet from a school fete. The irony is that to this day, I still cannot hit a tennis ball.
Max, I will tell you that in life everyone is a winner, but the truth is, and as you’ll discover for yourself, there is really only one victor. And I hope it’s me. But if not, I’ll still be grateful that someone picked me. And that I have a space to rant, rave, celebrate or lament on this brilliant platform.
